Ridley’s Orchard is situated on Old Norwich Road in Whitton. The nearest train station is Westerfield, three miles away, however the nearest station with a car park is Ipswich.

Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A14 and the A12.

There are a number of well-regarded schools in the local area. For youngsters these include Castle Hill Infant School, St Pancras Catholic Primary School and The Beeches Community Primary School. Thomas Wolsey Ormiston Academy caters for children aged three – 16 years, while Westbourne Academy and Ormiston Endeavour Academy welcome students from 11 to 16 years old.

Anglia Retail Park is just a short walk from Ridley’s Orchard and counts several homewares stores among its occupants. Ipswich town centre can be reached in 10 minutes by car and is home to a great variety of department and chain stores, boutiques, specialist retailers, cafés and restaurants. The main shopping areas are Buttermarket and Sailmakers malls, Carr Street, Westgate Street and Tavern Street. There’s also a market that takes place four times a week in Princes Street.

Whitton Sports & Community Centre has a gym, fitness studio, sports courts and football pitches, and is around five minutes walk from Ridley’s Orchard. Gainsborough and Northgate sports centres in Ipswich, can be reached in less than 20 minutes by car. Crown Pools, 10 minutes’ drive away, has both a leisure pool with wave machine and a competition pool.

Multi-screen cinemas are located in Buttermarket, in central Ipswich and at Cardinal Park, 10 minutes’ drive away, while the independent King Street Cinema, located within the Corn Exchange, presents a programme of world and arthouse films. The New Wolsey Theatre on Civic Drive offers drama, live music, dance and family entertainment.

The redeveloped marina in Ipswich, The Waterfront, is another popular leisure destination and boasts a selection of fashionable restaurants, wine bars and cafés looking out over the River Orwell. It is also home to Dance East, which hosts a variety of dance workshops and courses, as well as being the venue for performances from schools, colleges and visiting dance companies.

The nearest train station to the development is Westerfield, less than 10 minutes’ drive away, for services to Felixstowe. Ipswich station is around 15 minutes away by car and from there frequent services run to Newmarket, Cambridge, Norwich, Peterborough, Colchester, Chelmsford and London Liverpool Street, among other destinations.

Major roads within convenient travelling distance of Ridley’s Orchard include the A14 (for Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Cambridge, Kettering and Rugby) and the A12 (for Lowestoft, Colchester, Chelmsford, Romford and east London.)
