Willow Park is less than two miles from the centre of Halstead. The town of Braintree lies eight miles to the south, and Braintree train station is 20 minutes’ drive away. The A120 (for Colchester, Stansted Airport and the M11) is 15 minutes’ away by car.

The development lies within the administrative boundaries of Halstead Town Council, Braintree District Council and Essex County Council.

There are a number of well-regarded schools locally. For younger children these include St Andrews CE Primary, just a few minutes’ walk from the development, and Holy Trinity CE Primary, around five minutes’ drive away. The Ramsey Academy, 10 minutes’ walk away and Hedingham School, around 10 minutes’ drive away, both cater for students aged 11 – 18.

West Suffolk College, which has a campus in Sudbury, provides a wide selection of courses, including apprenticeships, further and higher education programmes. Colchester Institute, which offers a wide selection of vocational courses, has a large campus in Braintree, 15 minutes’ drive away.

The nearest supermarket is less than a mile away in the centre of Halstead. This pretty market town has a wide range of independent, boutique and specialist retailers, as well as a selection of cafés and restaurants and a weekly market that takes place on High Street.

Braintree is eight miles from the development and is home to a selection of well-known chain and independent shops, while Colchester town centre, 15 miles away, also offers a wide variety of stores, as well as popular restaurants, wine bars, traditional pubs and cafés.

Braintree Village outlet mall welcomes visitors from throughout the region, drawn by its designer boutiques and fashionable brands.

Halstead is situated in the lovely countryside of north Essex, close to the border with Suffolk. It is the ideal environment for walking, cycling, hiking and horse riding.

Halstead leisure centre is 10 minutes’ walk from the development. There, facilities include swimming pools, a sports hall, a gym and fitness studios. The town also has football, cricket, rugby and bowls clubs.

Great Notley Country Park extends over 100 acres and is 20 minutes’ drive from Willow Park. As well as walking, cycling and horse riding trails, it has a fishing lake, adventure play equipment and climbing ropes.

The Empire Theatre in Halstead town centre is both a live entertainment venue and cinema, screening a variety of films and playing host to music and comedy acts throughout the year. Movie fans will also find a multiplex cinema next to Braintree Village, around 20 minutes’ away by car.

The nearest train station to the development is Braintree, 20 minutes’ drive away for trains to Witham, Chelmsford, Stratford and London Liverpool Street among other destinations. Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A120, the A12 and the M11. Stansted Airport is 30 minutes’ away by car via the A131 and the A120.
