Hatfield Grove is situated a short walk from the nearest train station for travel to Chelmsford, Stratford and London Liverpool Street (around 40 minutes). Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A12 and the A130.

Well-regarded schools in the local area include Hatfield Peverel Infant School and Hatfield Peverel St Andrew’s Junior School – both within walking distance – and Chipping Hill Primary School, five minutes’ drive away. Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy in Witham are among those catering for secondary age students.

Apprenticeships, further and higher education courses are offered by Chelmsford College, seven miles away. Anglia Ruskin University has a campus in Chelmsford, 15 minutes’ drive from the development, and the University of Essex has its main campus in Colchester, less than 30 minutes’ away by car.

Hatfield Peverel has several shops, including a small supermarket a short walk from the development, however Witham, three miles away, offers a greater retail choice. It has two outdoor shopping centres – Newlands and The Grove – as well as a range of high-street and independent shops along Newland Street.

The city of Chelmsford, seven miles away, boasts a vibrant commercial district, which includes two indoor shopping centres – High Chelmer and Meadows – as well as the open-air Bond Street and a wide range of specialist and chain stores along High Street. The city centre also offers a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, traditional pubs and wine bars.

Strutt Memorial Recreation Ground, a short drive from Hatfield Grove, has play areas for both young and older children; it is also the venue for the annual Hatfield Peverel Party in the Park, which takes place each summer.

The rural location is an ideal backdrop for rambling, cycling and horse riding. Other activities available locally include cricket, football, badminton and bowls.

Witham Leisure Centre is less than four miles from the development and offers a range of facilities including a swimming pool, gym, exercise studios and sports courts.

Chelmsford is home to several cinemas and theatres, including the Civic Theatre and Cramphorn Studio, which between them stage a comprehensive programme of drama, comedy, music and family entertainment.

Hatfield Peverel train station is just a few minutes’ walk from the development. From there regular services run to Chelmsford, Stratford and London Liverpool Street, among other destinations. Major roads nearby include the A12, the A130 and the A120. Stansted Airport is 30 minutes’ away by car via the A120.
