Cities York and Leeds are both reachable in 40 minutes’ drive. York is famed for its historical cobbled streets, while Leeds provides more metropolitan attractions.
Parents are well served by local primary schools. Boroughbridge Primary School is a mile-and-a-half away, with Roecliffe C of E Primary School a little further out at five minutes’ drive – both popular choices.
Boroughbridge High School is a convenient 16-minute walk away, with choices further afield including Ripon Grammar School and Outwood Academy nine miles away.
Those interested in sixth form can attend Boroughbridge High School’s sixth form; The Outwood Academy in both Easingwold and Ripon; or colleges like Harrogate College 11 miles away or York College half an hour’s drive away.
The region has some outstanding universities to attend, from Russel Group members to newer universities. The University of York, York St. John, The University of Leeds, and Leeds Beckett University are all around 45 minutes’ drive away, with more higher education providers further out in Bradford and Sheffield.
Boroughbridge town centre is a mile away, with stores and eateries lining the streets. Discover a florist, a clothing boutique, homeware and hardware stores, a gift shop, and convenience stores as well as a café, restaurants, a hair salon, a pharmacy, and a library. The surrounding Yorkshire towns are popular for retail – including Harrogate, Ripon, and Wetherby – with even more shopping and dining found in York and Leeds.
Nearby shopping centres are in abundance, with The Designer Outlet, Vangarde Shopping Centre, and Leeds Corn Exchange all around 35 minutes away. Notably, Meadowhall is an hour’s drive away and is the largest shopping centre in Yorkshire.
Those who drive have easy access to major road links. The A1 is conveniently close for commuting, while the A19 and A61 are reachable in around 13 minutes – perfect for travelling to Harrogate, York, and Leeds. For access to the coast, the A170 is 13 miles away.
For those jetting across the globe, or travelling within the UK, Leeds Bradford Airport is a 40-minute drive away, while Teesside Airport is 45 minutes’ drive away.
