Staveley Nature Reserve is a six-minute drive away, boasting 195 acres of wetland, paths, and wildlife, ideal for those seeking a peaceful walk out. The River Ure runs through Boroughbridge, with kayaking and canoeing perfect for adventurous family days out.

Reach Knaresborough in under 10 minutes’ drive, with the large town offering a wide range of enjoyable leisure. From a sailing club and several golf courses to green parks and hiking routes through stunning natural scenery – Birham Woods, for example – there is plenty to keep the family entertained.

The homes are surrounded by pretty market towns; Harrogate is 10 miles away, highlights of which include picturesque gardens, a theatre and art gallery, and Ripley Castle’s grounds. Similarly, Ripon’s delightful centre is a quarter of an hour’s drive away, with cobbled streets and bunting paired with fantastic leisure; enjoy Ripon Cathedral, a racecourse, and a leisure centre. Wetherby is a similar distance away, with family-friendly highlights including Stockeld Park.

Take in the sweeping natural scenery of Nidderdale National Landscape and Howardian Hills National Park nearby – the latter a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Cities York and Leeds are both reachable in 40 minutes’ drive. York is famed for its historical cobbled streets, while Leeds provides more metropolitan attractions.

Parents are well served by local primary schools. Boroughbridge Primary School is a mile-and-a-half away, with Roecliffe C of E Primary School a little further out at five minutes’ drive – both popular choices.

Boroughbridge High School is a convenient 16-minute walk away, with choices further afield including Ripon Grammar School and Outwood Academy nine miles away.

Those interested in sixth form can attend Boroughbridge High School’s sixth form; The Outwood Academy in both Easingwold and Ripon; or colleges like Harrogate College 11 miles away or York College half an hour’s drive away.

The region has some outstanding universities to attend, from Russel Group members to newer universities. The University of York, York St. John, The University of Leeds, and Leeds Beckett University are all around 45 minutes’ drive away, with more higher education providers further out in Bradford and Sheffield.

Boroughbridge town centre is a mile away, with stores and eateries lining the streets. Discover a florist, a clothing boutique, homeware and hardware stores, a gift shop, and convenience stores as well as a café, restaurants, a hair salon, a pharmacy, and a library. The surrounding Yorkshire towns are popular for retail – including Harrogate, Ripon, and Wetherby – with even more shopping and dining found in York and Leeds.

Nearby shopping centres are in abundance, with The Designer Outlet, Vangarde Shopping Centre, and Leeds Corn Exchange all around 35 minutes away. Notably, Meadowhall is an hour’s drive away and is the largest shopping centre in Yorkshire.

Those who drive have easy access to major road links. The A1 is conveniently close for commuting, while the A19 and A61 are reachable in around 13 minutes – perfect for travelling to Harrogate, York, and Leeds. For access to the coast, the A170 is 13 miles away.

For those jetting across the globe, or travelling within the UK, Leeds Bradford Airport is a 40-minute drive away, while Teesside Airport is 45 minutes’ drive away.

The homes benefit from a reliable public transport network nearby. Market Place Bus Stop is down the road, as is the bus stop at St James Square. Catch a bus from the former for routes to Knaresborough and York, with the latter providing travel to Ripon, Knaresborough, and Roecliffe.

Board a train from Cattal Station just eight-and-a-half miles away, with notable direct connections to York in 20 minutes. York, one of the major railway hubs in the country, boasts direct connections to London, Newcastle, Edinburgh, and Manchester.
