Nestled within the charming town of Axbridge, residents of Lavender Rise will be a seven-minute drive away from the rich selection of activities at Cheddar Reservoir. The popular attraction offers birdwatching, watersports, and walking routes. For days out at the golf course, the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club will be a 20-minute drive away. 

Just 30 minutes’ drive away will be the stunning Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, featuring King’s Wood, Cheddar Gorge, and Chew Valley Lake. The lake, one of the largest man-made lakes in the UK, features a sailing club. For activities enjoyed as a family, Chew Valley Wildlife Park has a variety of animals and will be situated 16 miles away from the proposed site.  

The cities of Bath and Bristol will be easily accessible. Bristol will be 40 minutes’ drive away, while journeys to Bath will take an hour in the car. Both areas have a host of museums, art galleries, and parks. Bath is also home to Britain’s only natural thermal spa.  

Lavender Rise will be well-placed for those with children. Popular primary schools in the local area include Axbridge Church of England First School Academy, which will be a four-minute walk away. Just 10 minutes’ drive away will be Weare Academy First School and Fairlands Middle School. 

For pupils of secondary school age, The King of Wessex Academy will be a 10-minute drive away, while the sought-after Churchill Academy and Sixth Form will be just over a 15-minute car journey away. Independent options include Sidcot School, which caters for ages three to 18.  

The development will have a host of higher education options just an hour’s drive away, including the prestigious University of Exeter, University of Bath, and University of Bristol. 

The homes will have excellent driving routes nearby, with easy access to several major roads. Residents will be able to reach both the A38 and the M5 in around 15 minutes when driving, connecting Axbridge to the wider area. 

Those looking to travel by public transport will benefit from a bus stop situated just a one-minute walk away, and a train station around six miles away. From here, commuters can travel to other local stations and to the major stations in Bristol and Exeter. 

For travel across the country and internationally, Bristol Airport will be a 20-minute drive away.  

Independent stores line the streets of Axbridge town centre, which will be a five-minute walk away from Lavender Rise, with a farmers’ market selling local produce. For everyday essentials, a popular supermarket will be just a five-minute drive away, while a larger grocery store will be a 10-minute drive away.  

Well-loved shopping centres include Clarks Village, Cabot Circus, and Sovereign Shopping Centre. They will all be around half an hour’s drive away.  

For dining, Axbridge centre has several eateries, including a pub and restaurant. The neighbouring village of Cheddar hosts a variety of dining options, including Thai and Italian. 

The cities of Bath and Bristol both have lively shopping and dining scenes, with a range of stores and eateries for all tastes.
