Shopping locally is focused on High Street and Station Lane, with their mixture of independent and chain stores, supermarkets, restaurants, cafés and bars. Romford, 15 minutes’ drive from the development, is a popular retail destination and is home to the Liberty, Mercury and Brewery malls, as well as to Romford Shopping Hall.

Hornchurch Sports Centre, two miles away, has two swimming pools, a gym, an exercise studio, sports courts and pitches. Hornchurch Country Park, just a short drive from the development, has an outdoor gym and trim trail, as well as a children’s play area and a local nature reserve. Harrow Lodge Park, 10 minutes’ drive away, caters for a wealth of activities, such as tennis, cricket, hockey and football. It also incorporates two large lakes and two play areas.

Golf enthusiasts will find three courses – Upminster, Top Meadow and Cranham – within 15 minutes’ drive of St George’s Gate.

The A12 for the City of London and the A13 for Docklands and east London are both around four miles away, while the M25 London Orbital is 15 minutes’ drive away. Hornchurch Underground Station is on the District line and can be reached in 10 minutes on foot; public bus services link the development with nearby towns.
