Weavers Fields is situated on the outskirts of the town of Desborough, Northamptonshire. The development is around a 30-minute drive from junction 19 of the M1, via the A14.
Desborough, and this development, fall under the administration of North Northamptonshire Council.
Whether you’re a fanatic of the outdoors or looking to keep the kids occupied, there’s plenty of leisure opportunities and attractions in the areas around Weavers Fields.
Under a five-minute drive away from the development is The Plens Nature Reserve, which is an ideal location for dog walkers and lovers of the outdoors. The five-hectare site – taken care of by the National Trust – has a variety of paths and trails meandering the reserve.
Less than a mile away is the fantastic West Lodge Farm Park, where visitors can explore everything the farm has to offer. From viewing the livestock and walking the nature trails through to taking a pony ride and playing on the adventure playground, there’s so much to see and do.
Roughly 20 minutes’ drive away is the beautiful Kirby Hall, which is an English Heritage site featuring a stunning 17th-century home and grounds – all of which are open visitors. Combine this with a trip to the nearby Rushton Triangular Lodge (which is around four miles away from Weavers Fields), and you’ll be taking in some of the best heritage sites in the area.
Keeping the cupboards well-stocked with everyday items is easy given Weavers Fields’ close proximity to a local supermarket. At a little over half-a-mile away, the option is there for residents of the development to travel on foot or by car.
Alternatively, the towns in the vicinity of Desborough offer a variety of shopping centres to browse, each providing an array of independent stores and high-street shops to peruse. All within roughly a 15-minute drive are Newlands Shopping Centre, Willow Place Shopping Centre, and Bennett’s Place Courtyard.
This development’s ideal location means that there’s plenty of choice when it comes to travelling throughout the area. For those with vehicles who are looking to commute for work, the towns of Market Harborough, Kettering, and Corby are all within a 15-minute drive. Further afield are Coventry city centre and Leicester city centre, which can both be reached in under 45 minutes by car.
Alternatively, Market Harborough train station is only around 10 minutes’ drive away and enables swift travel to nearby towns and cities. For example, Kettering is a little over five minutes away and Leicester can be reached in just over 10 minutes.
Any families looking to make a home at Weavers Fields will be pleased with the number of schools available within driving distance of the development. Havelock Infant School and Loatlands Primary School are both within five minutes’ drive, while Wilbarston C of E Primary School is only a little over a mile-and-a-half away.
Older children in the family have a number of options, including Montsaye Academy and Maplefields Academy, which are a five-minute drive and a 10-minute drive, respectively.
For higher education, both the University of Northampton and the University of Leicester are around 20 miles away from Weavers Fields.
