Spend the day wondering Winchester’s streets just 20 minutes’ drive away, with Winchester Cathedral, museums, and public landscaped gardens. Furthermore, Southampton city centre is reachable in 35 minutes’ drive, with the many metropolitan attractions ready to explore. Be among the bustle of London in a 90-minute drive.

Situated far enough away from major roads that life remains undisrupted, but close enough that car travel is quick and convenient. Reach the M3 and A31 in quarter of an hour, leading north up to the A34 and London, and south down to Southampton and the coast.

The nearest bus stop is Lymington Bottom half a mile away, with routes through the local area terminating at Winchester and Alton.

Hop on a train at Alton Train Station seven-and-a-half miles away, or arrive there in 30 minutes on the bus. From here, catch a direct train to London Waterloo in little over an hour, as well as more locally to Aldershot, Farnham, and Guildford. There’s also the Watercress Line, which is a heritage service through the scenic Hampshire countryside.

Jet off from Southampton Airport, which is a convenient 30-minute drive away, for travel across the country and the globe.

You’ll have a selection of everyday essentials on your doorstep. A fuel station, GP, gym, vet, cafés and nationally recognised shops are all just a two-minute drive away on Winchester Road. There’s also a selection of well-loved independents including an antique store, yoga studio and a weekly market. For the ‘big shop’, there are three superstores in Alton just 10 minutes down the road.

For wider shopping needs, head to Basingstoke just 20 minutes’ drive away. Here you’ll find Festival Place Retail Park, a shopping centre with over 180 retailers, as well as a cinema and dining options. Alton also boasts an impressive selection of retail and dining with Mexican, American, Italian, cafés and bars to enjoy.

Parents will be reassured that the nearest primary school – Four Marks C of E Primary School – is reachable in under 10 minutes on foot. Nearby, Medstead C of E Primary School is a five-minute drive away. For nursery-aged children, Heydays Pre-School is a nine-minute walk away.

Local secondary school-aged children attend Amery Hill School and Eggar’s School in Alton. The nearest provider of further education is Havant and South Downs College, also in Alton.

The region boasts popular choices for higher education. The University of Winchester is a 25-minute drive away, with commutes to The University of Southampton and The University of Portsmouth around just 10 minutes more. Southampton Solent University is another sought-after choice, sitting just 25 miles from home.
