Life in Hawthorn Park offers variety from the moment you step out your door. Wake up in the scenery of the Gloucestershire countryside and take your pick of sleepy dog-walking routes into the neighbouring fields. If the mood strikes, strap on the running shoes and hit the canal path, a place of peace to soak in the morning sun. And if the buzz of the city is too much for a lazy Sunday, there’s enough of a hum in the village to keep you entertained if you’re just in need of a coffee and some light shopping.

Gloucester is right on the doorstep for busier days, with picturesque shopping streets emanating from the cathedral. Take the bus into town and potter past unforgettable Tudor-style architecture, quaint and colourful shop fronts, and beautiful waterfront dining amongst a regeneration of industrial Victorian warehouses.

Within walking distance, Bristol Road just over the river has got you sorted for everyday convenience with supermarkets. It also has a choice of takeaways, gastropubs, and cafés for catch-ups over coffee in the sun.

Gloucester Quays shopping outlet, Eastgate Shopping Centre, King’s Walk Shopping Centre, St Oswald’s Retail Park – with so many options, if you can’t get your Christmas list ticked off in Gloucester, then it must be a ‘you’ problem. The city’s shopping is wonderfully varied, covering all your weekly shopping needs with popular brands and discount stores. Bigger purchases and electronics are found in the retail parks, independents and boutiques pop up all around the city’s streets, and the outlet ensures fashion is a choice for all.

When the occasion strikes, you’re just a quick taxi-ride away from stunning riverside dining in Gloucester Quays. Take your pick of bars and restaurants along the docks – what more beautiful location could you ask for as a backdrop for your post-dessert stroll?

Nearby primary schools include Hempsted Church of England Primary School a short walk away, and Linden Primary School a mile away. Popular secondary schools within the area include Ribston Hall High School The Crypt School – neither are far in the car, and both are walkable for when being dropped off by your parents becomes ‘so uncool’.

For further education, Gloucestershire College has a great reputation locally, reachable in a short drive. The University of Gloucestershire around 20 minutes’ drive away, while the University of Bristol is at a commutable distance of 30 miles.

Two nearby bus stops, both of which are practically on the doorstep, provide regular routes to Quedgeley and Brockworth. Travel by train is easily achieved, with Gloucester station just over two miles away. From here, train journeys to Bristol take a little over half an hour and journeys to Birmingham take about an hour.

Gloucestershire boasts a fantastic road network – seriously, those Romans knew what they were doing when they blueprinted the M5. It’s about three miles away with high-speed links to Bristol, Birmingham, and Exeter. Good old Romans.

For a great choice of trips across the globe, Bristol Airport is an hour away. Just don’t spend your whole holiday missing your shiny new Bellway home.

Buying Calculators

Mortgage Calculator

Our simple mortgage calculator will give you an idea of how you much you could borrow for a mortgage, and how your monthly repayments could be impacted by your deposit, repayment term, or mortgage interest rate.

It’s only an estimate, and not a formal application or lender offer, but we hope you’ll find it useful in understanding what you can afford – or how much deposit you need to save.

Your monthly repayments

Repayment mortgage
What's this?
If you opt for a repayment mortgage, you will need to make monthly payments to your mortgage lender, which consist of a portion of the amount you originally borrowed (sometimes called the ‘capital balance’), as well as any interested that has been incurred on your loan.
Interest only mortgage
What's this?
Choosing an interest-only mortgage means that you will only need to make monthly payments towards the interest on the amount you originally borrowed. With this type of loan, you don’t need to repay any of the capital balance (the amount you borrowed to buy your home), for the duration of the interest only period.
