For day-to-day essentials, there is a small supermarket within 10 minutes’ walk of Woodgate, while the Langney Shopping Centre, less than two miles away, offers a larger selection of high-street and independent stores, as well as a twice weekly market.

Travelling slightly further afield, Eastbourne is a popular shopping destination, with the Arndale Centre boasting around 70 well-known and specialist retailers, and a variety of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants lining the surrounding streets.

Leisure

Stone Cross offers many opportunities for leisure and relaxation. Just a couple of minutes’ walk from the development, the restored grade II listed Stone Cross Tower Windmill is open every Sunday for tours. The adjacent grain store is now a café and flour produced in the mill – as well as cakes and biscuits made from it – are sold here.

Sharnfold Farm, 15 minutes’ walk from the development, has a children’s play area, farm trail and fishing lake, and hosts regular holiday events, while the nearest recreation ground is Adur Park, half a mile away.

A popular seaside resort, Eastbourne boasts shingle and sandy beaches, such as Grand Parade, Marine Parade, Royal Parade and Harbour Reach. Enjoy the flower beds of Carpet Gardens stretching along the promenade, the peace of the Italian Gardens next to Holywell Retreat and Beachy Head, and the many amenities of the clifftop Helen Gardens. Stroll along the Victorian pier and soak up the sea views, or enjoy the open space of Seven Sisters Country Park and its famous chalk cliffs, set in the picturesque countryside of the South Downs.

Education

Families will find several well-regarded primary and secondary schools near the development, such as Stone Cross School and Hankham Primary School for younger children, and The Causeway School for older pupils.

Transport

Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A27 for Brighton, Worthing, Chichester and Portsmouth, and the A22 for London. The nearest railway station is Pevensey & Westham, just over a mile away, and from there regular services run to Hastings, Brighton, Gatwick Airport, Clapham Junction and London Victoria. For domestic and international air travel Gatwick Airport is 50 minutes’ drive away via the A27 and the A23.
