The village of Doveridge, Derbyshire is situated to the west of Derby, and northwest of Burton upon Trent. Dove Manor can be found approximately two miles from the A50 Doveridge Bypass.

The pleasant village of Doveridge offers a selection of amenities, all within walking distance of Dove Manor; these include a grocery store, a village hall, sports pitches and a traditional pub, which serves home-cooked food alongside real ales, and often hosts live music performances.

Uttoxeter, less than a 10-minute drive away, provides a broader choice of shopping and dining opportunities. A range of well-known and independent retailers, cafes and restaurants, in addition to several supermarkets, can be found in the town centre; on the fourth Saturday of every month, The Maker’s Market takes place on High Street, showcasing an array of crafts and goods from local artisans such as artists, bakers, jewellery designers and more.

Situated on the outskirts of the town centre, Dovefield Retail Park offers a choice of large stores and casual dining outlets, plus family entertainment.

Further afield, the commercial hub of Burton upon Trent offers two indoor shopping malls, Coopers Square and The Octagon, which present a variety of stores and cafes; Burton is also renowned for its several craft beer breweries and interesting dining scene that includes restaurants such as The Winery, an impressive eatery situated in the restored Abbey overlooking the River Trent, and Pascal at The Old Vicarage, which fuses classic elements of French and British cooking to create a fine dining experience. From Dove Manor, Burton upon Trent is about 25 minutes away by car.

Leisure and entertainment

An appealing variety of recreational amenities are situated within close proximity to Doveridge, including sports facilities and family entertainment.

For keen golfers, Uttoxeter Golf Club is located just over three miles from Dove Manor, while horse racing fans will find Uttoxeter Racecourse around five minutes away by car. Benefitting from beautiful countryside surroundings, this track hosts meetings throughout the year, including the Midlands Grand National, music events and family race days.

A couple of miles from Dove Manor, CineBowl is an indoor family leisure complex that offers a cinema, bowling alley and ice skating rink. Around 20 minutes’ drive away is the Alton Towers Resort, which incorporates the well-known theme park in addition to other attractions such as a waterpark, adventure golf courses and CBeebies Land, for younger children.

Education

Residents at Dove Manor will find a number of schools within easy reach. Doveridge Primary School is situated about five minutes’ walk away, while Uttoxeter, three miles away from the development, presents several well-regarded primary schools.

For older students, the nearest secondary school is Thomas Alleyne’s High School, located just over two miles away. Denstone College, which can be accessed in 15 minutes by car, provides an independent education for pupils aged 11-18.

A choice of further education courses are offered at Stoke-on-Trent College, and South Staffordshire College, both of which have campuses that can be reached in around 30 minutes’ drive from Doveridge. 

Transport

For travel by car to Stoke-on-Trent, Burton upon Trent and Derby, the A50 Doveridge Bypass can be reached in just a few minutes from Dove Manor; this road also connects to the M1 for Loughborough and Nottingham. 

Three miles away, Uttoxeter railway station provides direct services to destinations including Derby, Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe. The latter station is due to become a HS2 hub as part of Phase 2 of the project, scheduled for full completion by 2033.
