Hawley lies to the northwest of Farnborough town centre, within the boundaries of Surrey. From junction 4a of the M3, Helios Park is a few minutes’ drive away.
Hawley Lake, around a mile from Helios Park, offers a picturesque forest setting for walking, running and cycling, and Hawley Lake Sail Training Centre provides tuition in recreational sailing, kayaking and power boating. For keen golfers, Southwood Golf Club and North Hants Golf Club are both less than 10 minutes’ drive away.
Other local sports and fitness amenities include Blackwater and Hawley Leisure Centre, and Crown Taverners Cricket Club and Farnborough Football Club, which have active teams.
For day-to-day shopping, a number of supermarkets are situated within two miles of Helios Park. A traditional village pub, The Crown and Cushion, can be reached in around 15 minutes’ walk, and serves an extensive food menu and Sunday roasts.
Ten minutes’ drive away, in Farnborough, Blackwater Shopping Park has a selection of large retailers; an array of chain and independent stores can be found inside The Meads Shopping Centre, which also has a cinema and a choice of family restaurants. Further afield, Camberley, about five miles from Hawley, offers a more varied dining experience, as well as high-street shopping in its town centre and The Mall shopping complex.
Several well-regarded schools are in the area surrounding the development. For younger children, Guillemont Junior School is around a 10-minute walk from Helios Park, and the Manor and Cove schools for infant and primary age pupils are less than two miles away. Older students are served by Kings International College, and Farnborough Hill secondary school for girls, both of which are located approximately 10 minutes away by car.
For those interested in pursuing further and higher education, Sixth Form College Farnborough, Farnborough College of Technology, which incorporates University Centre Farnborough, and the University of Surrey are all commutable from these new homes in Hawley.
An ideal base for commuters into the capital, Helios Park is a short distance from the M3 which connects to the M25 for Greater London.
The nearest railway station to the development is Fleet, approximately ten minutes’ drive away; from there, a direct train to London Waterloo takes less than an hour.
