The development lies within the administrative boundaries of Cranleigh Parish Council, Waverley Borough Council and Surrey County Council.

Shopping

Shopping locally is focused on and around Cranleigh High Street, which offers a number of specialist retailers, supermarkets, independent and chain stores, as well as the department store Manns of Cranleigh. Further afield, Guildford has three shopping centres – The Friary, Tunsgate and White Lion Walk – as well as luxury boutiques and designer stores along The Lanes, Chapel Street, North Street and the cobbled high street.

Leisure

Sports venues within easy reach of the development include Cranleigh School Sports Club, which is open to the public and offers a range of facilities including squash and netball courts, an equestrian centre and a gym, while Cranleigh Leisure Centre, just a mile away, has a swimming pool, sports courts and a fitness studio. Alfold Tennis Club is a few minutes’ drive from the development and Cranleigh Golf and Country Club, which has an 18-hole course, can be reached in less than 10 minutes by car.

The village also has an arts centre, which hosts a regular programme of film screenings, exhibitions, live music and family entertainment.

Education

There are a number of well-regarded schools near Little Meadow, including Cranleigh Church of England Primary School and Park Mead Primary for younger children, and Glebelands School for secondary-age students. The independent Cranleigh School, which caters for day and boarding pupils, is a few minutes’ drive from the development.

Transport

Although Cranleigh does not have a train station, for commuters, transport links from nearby Guildford are excellent, with frequent services operating to Gatwick Airport, Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and London Waterloo, among other destinations. The nearest railway station is Chilworth, around five miles from Cranleigh, and from there trains run to Dorking, Reigate, Guildford and Reading. The A281 – for Guildford, Woking, Horsham, Crawley and Brighton – lies around a mile from the development, the A24 and the A3 are both around 10 miles away.
