A large supermarket, independent and high-street stores can be found at The Killingworth Centre, just over a mile away. The Silverlink Shopping Park, which is home to a number of fashion and homewares’ brands, a multiplex cinema and several popular restaurants, can be reached in 10 minutes by car, while the retail and leisure heart of Newcastle lies around five miles away.

Sporting facilities near Moorfields include football pitches and games areas at West Moor Community Centre, a swimming pool, sports hall and gym at The Lakeside Centre, and two golf courses – at Parklands Golf Club and Northumberland Golf Club. Newcastle Racecourse, a prestigious national hunt and flat racing venue, which also plays host to exhibitions, festivals and live music performances, is less than three miles away.

The Northumberland countryside and the towns and villages of the North East coast provide ample opportunities for sporting and leisure pursuits, such as walking, hiking, horse riding and sailing. The region is also celebrated for its historic country houses and monuments, such as Belsay Hall, Tynemouth Priory and Castle, and Hadrian’s Wall.

Several well-regarded schools can be found near the development, including Westmoor Primary School and George Stephenson High School. Tyne Metropolitan College offers a range of A levels, apprenticeships and higher education courses, while the nearest universities are Newcastle University and Northumbria University, both in the city centre.

Roads easily accessible from the development include the A1 for Newcastle, Gateshead, Durham and the south, and the A19 for Sunderland, Middlesbrough, York and Doncaster. The A1058 Coast Road, which connects Tynemouth with Newcastle, can be reached in 10 minutes. The nearest Metro stations are at Four Lane Ends and Palmersville, both seven minutes’ drive away. From there trains run to Newcastle, Gateshead, South Shields, Whitley Bay and Tynemouth.

For domestic and international flights Newcastle Airport is around 15 minutes’ drive away via the A1.
