For everyday essentials, there is a large supermarket just under half a mile away from the development.

Gateshead high street is around a mile away and has a range of shops to offer from independent to high street stores. For an abundance of shopping opportunities, the Metrocentre is only a 13-minute drive from Modello. As the UK’s second largest shopping mall it boasts an excellent selection of high street names, department stores, supermarkets and independent boutiques, as well as a good range of cafes and restaurants.

Further shopping opportunities are aplenty within the city of Newcastle, just a short walk across the river from the development, with many well-known brand names, department stores and boutiques within its popular shopping areas, including Northumberland Street and shopping mall Eldon Square. For independent retailers, there is the Grainger Market, an indoor market open six days a week, offering a wide variety of fresh, local produce, clothing and gifts, as well as a multitude of food vendors. Slightly closer to home, and only a short walk from Modello, is the popular Newcastle Quayside Market. Hosted every Sunday along the River Tyne, visitors can find a good selection ofstalls selling homewares, gifts, clothing and street food.

There are a vast array of dining options for residents to choose from within the local area, including the Newcastle Gateshead food scene. Six at the Baltic is within walking distance of the development. This rooftop bar and restaurant offers fine dining and bistro menu options, with panoramic views of Newcastle and Gateshead. Just a short walk over the river, Newcastle’s Quayside is home to a selection of independent and well-known restaurants, including House of Tides, the city’s only Michelin-starred restaurant.

There is also a small petting farm and a Grade II listed Victorian mansion to explore. For sports fans, there is Gateshead International Stadium, only 10 minutes’ drive from the development, which houses an athletics stadium and track, plus sports hall, tennis, badminton and netball courts, as well as two 3G sports pitches. The stadium is home to a football, rugby, athletics and an American football team. Indoor sporting pursuits can be enjoyed at Gateshead Leisure Centre, only six minutes’ drive from the development. The centre is currently undergoing a refurbishment, and has various facilities on offer such as a modern gym, three swimming pools and a clip and climb centre, as well as a children’s soft play.

Entertainment for all ages is on offer in Newcastle city centre, home to many parks, theatres, museums, arts and music venues, as well as a vast array of restaurants, bars and leisure facilities. Football fans might enjoy a visit to the city’s stadium, St James’ Park, while for families there are many options to choose from including Exhibition Park, Life Science centre and the Discovery Museum.

Families will be happy to note that there are well-regarded primary schools within the local area, including, St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, less than a mile away by car.

For college education, Newcastle College is around two miles away and offers education for those aged 16 plus, including a wide range of apprenticeships, further and higher education courses. Higher education is also covered within Newcastle city centre via both Northumbria University and Newcastle University.

Residents of Modello will be spoilt for choice when it comes to transport options. Modello is situated in Gateshead, just a five-minute walk away from the River Tyne. The development can be reached in under a 10-minute drive away from junction 69 of the A1, connecting it to Sunderland, Durham and beyond (south) and to Newcastle and Northumberland (to the North). Newcastle city centre is only a 10-minute drive away via the A167 (M), or just a short walk over the river.

For public transport, there are several options. The nearest bus station is Gateshead Interchange, around half a mile’s walk away from the development, which runs regular services to local towns and cities. Gateshead Metro Station is of a similar distance from home and allows commuters to connect with services running to Gateshead, Newcastle, Newcastle Airport, Tynemouth and Sunderland.

Newcastle Central Station is only half a mile’s walk away, and runs regular services to Darlington, Durham, Morpeth and Middlesborough, as well as to Edinburgh to the North, and to the south, York, London and beyond.

Air travel is covered by Newcastle International Airport, which is only twenty minutes’ drive away, via the A1 and A696, or can be accessed via the local metro service.
