The town centre is a short walk from Hertsmere Mews and includes independent retailers, bars and cafés along Shenley Road, as well as high-street fashion and homewares stores in Borehamwood Shopping Park, a mile away. Several supermarkets can also be found within easy reach of the development.

Further afield, Edgware to the south, Barnet to the east and Watford to the west all have vibrant shopping centres, while Brent Cross shopping mall in Hendon, less than nine miles away is home to around 120 stores, and The Galleria outlet mall at Hatfield to more than 80. St Albans, 25 minutes’ drive away, is another popular shopping destination, counting the Maltings mall, Christopher Place and a twice weekly market among its retail attractions.

In addition, the world-class designer boutiques, department stores and specialist independents of central London are just a train journey away.

The independent Yavneh College, for children aged 11 – 18 years, is less than a mile from the development.


Elstree & Borehamwood Railway Station is 20 minutes’ walk from Hertsmere Mews, or a few minutes away by car. From there regular services operate to London St Pancras (around 20 minutes), Farringdon (around 25 minutes) and London Blackfriars (around 30 minutes). Trains also call at St Albans (10 minutes), Luton (25 minutes) and Luton Airport (30 minutes).

Road links with the surrounding area are excellent. The A1 for London to the south and Welwyn, Peterborough, Grantham and Doncaster to the north, is just over a mile away; the M1 for London, Luton, Milton Keynes, Nottingham and Leeds, is 15 minutes’ drive away, and the M25 London Orbital Motorway, is 10 minutes’ drive away.

For domestic and international air travel, Luton Airport is 30 minutes’ drive away via the M1, and Heathrow around 40 minutes’ drive away via the M25.
