Edenfields is situated in Boothstown, Worsley, in the county of Greater Manchester, to the west of Salford. From junction 13 of the M60, the development is about two miles away.
Edenfields is surrounded by open countryside, which facilitates outdoor pursuits and sport, from rambling and cycling, to horse riding and hiking. Several football pitches are located just a couple of minutes’ walk away and there are two golf courses – Worsley and Ellesmere – within four miles. Boothsbank Park, a few minutes’ drive from the development, has tennis courts and a play area for children. Manchester’s fashionable Northern Quarter offers an eclectic selection of restaurants, bars and live music venues, and its city centre is home to three theatres – The Royal Exchange Theatre in St Ann’s Square, the Palace Theatre on Oxford Street and the Opera House on Quay Street. All stage a comprehensive programme of drama, music, comedy and family entertainment.
Shopping locally is focused around the village centre, which is home to independent stores and a small supermarket. Boothstown also has several traditional pubs and cafés, including Bexters Kitchen & Bar, which serves a range of food and snacks during the day, and stages regular live music events in the evening, and Bambino, a family-friendly café that hosts entertainment sessions for young children. George’s restaurant in neighbouring Worsley, which is owned by footballer Ryan Giggs, is a popular destination for eating out and is just two miles from Edenfields.
Further afield, The Lowry Outlet at Salford Quays offers a host of big brand names at discount prices and can be reached within 20 minutes by car, the Trafford Centre with almost 200 shops and eateries is around six miles away and Manchester’s Arndale Centre is nine miles away. In addition, Manchester city centre boasts a cosmopolitan mix of celebrated department stores, high street chains, specialist and designer boutiques.
For families there are several well-regarded schools in the local area, including St Andrews CE Primary, Boothstown Methodist Primary and Holy Family Catholic Primary schools. Secondary schools include Harrop Fold School, St James CE High School and Urmston Grammar Academy.
Salford College of Further Education offers a range of apprenticeships, vocational and academic courses; the University of Salford, Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Manchester are all around 20 minutes’ drive from the development.
Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A580 for Salford and Liverpool, the M60 Manchester Ring Road and the M62 for Liverpool, Warrington, Huddersfield, Leeds and Hull.
The nearest railway station is Walkden, three miles away, and from there regular services run to Blackburn, Leeds, Wigan, Salford and Manchester. Local buses connect the area with nearby towns and villages; Manchester Airport is 14 miles away via the M60.
