There are three supermarkets located a short drive from these new homes in Croydon, while a number of fashion and homewares stores, as well as the Valley Retail Park, can be found just off Purley Way. Croydon town centre, around a mile away, is a busy commercial hub, with two malls – the Whitgift and Centrale shopping centres – offering a variety of department and chain stores, specialist boutiques and independents. Planned redevelopment of the two shopping centres promises to create a retail and leisure destination with more than 300 shops, cafés and restaurants, a multiplex cinema and a bowling alley – all due to open in 2021.


Currently, High Street is a popular destination for eating out, with a vibrant selection of restaurants and bars. Grants Entertainment Centre on neighbouring Middle Street is home to a 10-screen cinema and a number of eateries, and Valley Retail Park, just over a mile from Ikon, also boasts a multiplex cinema, bowling alley and branches of several popular restaurant chains.

Sports enthusiasts are well catered for: Waddon Leisure Centre can be reached in around 10 minutes by car and offers a range of facilities, including swimming pools, a sports hall, a gym and exercise studios; South Croydon Sports Club, less than three miles away, has a number of tennis and badminton clubs, while football pitches are located at Canterbury Road Recreation Ground and within Lloyd Park, five minutes’ walk away and around 10 minutes’ drive away respectively. Mitcham Common, less than 20 minutes’ walk from the development, provides a picturesque open space, popular with walkers and runners; it is also home to Mitcham Golf Club and an 18-hole golf course.


For residents working in central London the nearest railway station is West Croydon, around 20 minutes’ walk away, with trains running from there to Canada Water (Docklands), Highbury & Islington, London Bridge, Clapham Junction and London Victoria. The capital’s only tram network runs through Croydon from New Addington to Wimbledon in south London, and the nearest tram stop – Ampere Way – is less than 10 minutes’ walk from the development. The A23 for London, the M25, Gatwick Airport and Brighton is also easily accessible from the development.
