Longframlington is situated 11 miles north of Morpeth town centre, and 25 miles north of Newcastle city centre. Benefitting from a vibrant village community, as well as accessible amenities and excellent transport routes to surrounding towns, Meadowcroft is rich in rural surroundings.

The nearby countryside is home to some of the region’s outdoor leisure gems – including National Trust’s Cragside and Brinkburn Priory – while some of the country’s finest natural beauty spots – including Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland Coast – are less than 10 miles away.

Meadowcroft is well-placed for outdoor leisure, with the local landscape boasting forts, manor houses, well-maintained public gardens, crags, caves, and castles – all ready to explore on family days out.

National Trust’s Cragside is a 10-minute drive away, offering scenic walking in an historic location, as well as regular interactive activities for young explorers. Brinkburn Priory and Manor House is a seven-minute drive away, showcasing the region’s rich history, contemporised by occasional music events within the ruin. Northumberland Zoo is an 11-minute drive from the development and showcases an array of animals from all over the world, while employing a strong educational message and playing an important role in wildlife conservation.

Closer to home, King George’s Field and Longframlington Dog Area are a five-minute walk away for everyday forays. The surrounding area is also home to several well-maintained golf courses, while Longframlington has a leisure centre and a yoga studio.

Longhorsley First School is a six-minute drive down the road, while Swarland Primary School is a seven-minute drive away for those with young families.

For older children, Dr Thomlinson C of E Middle School is a 14-minute drive away – or 36 minutes via public transport – while The Duchess’s Community High School is also a 14-minute drive. King Edward VI School in Morpeth is a 19-minute drive away, or 32 minutes via public transport.

Those looking to pursue higher education have two of the country’s finest universities in Newcastle and Northumbria, both just over half an hour away in the car or a little over an hour’s commute via public transport.

St Mary’s Church bus stop – a three-minute walk away – offers regular routes to Morpeth and Newcastle for easy town and city access. Morpeth train station – 12 miles away – offers national rail connections, with frequent journeys into Newcastle, as well as travel up to Edinburgh, down to London, and even across to Bristol.

The development is just off the A697, which leads north into Scotland, and south intersecting with the A1 after 12 minutes leading to Newcastle and beyond. Alternatively, the A1 can be accessed at Felton just eight minutes’ drive away.

Newcastle Airport is a 35-minute drive away and offers a terrific range of flights worldwide.

Meadowcroft is on the periphery of village convenience, with a corner store, a butcher, a popular café, and two local pubs – both of which serve hearty food – within a two-minute walk. With everyday needs taken care of, the nearby market town of Morpeth – 12 miles away – satisfies more comprehensive shopping needs. With a choice of supermarkets and a string of high-street brands, Morpeth also offers a terrific selection of dining on both Bridge Street and Newgate Street, with options including Italian, Thai, and Turkish food.

Flanked by several retail parks, the city of Newcastle covers all shopping and dining needs in excess, with a selection of authentic world food, as well as independent retailers for unique gifts. Look out for weekend markets in Tynemouth, the Ouseburn, and on the Quayside.

Gateshead’s Metrocentre is a 33-minute drive away and offers flagship brands, favourite restaurants, and indoor leisure all under one roof.
