Both Beaurepaire Priory and Finchale Priory’s ruins are within an 11-minute drive of the development, with Ushaw House, Chapels, and Gardens five miles away. National Trust’s Crook Hall Gardens lies just north of the city centre, while Adventure Valley theme park and Diggerland Durham are excellent days out for young families, both under a 10-minute drive away.

Durham’s historic city centre offers unique leisure opportunities, including picturesque walking routes along the River Wear. This provides views of the city’s bustling tourist culture and famous architecture – none more well known than Durham Cathedral, which is as old as the city itself. The city is also host to popular museums, theatres, and cinemas.

Durham offers a well-regarded array of schooling options for young families. Framwellgate Moor Primary School and Saint Margaret’s C of E Primary School are two of several local primary schools, situated a five- and six-minute drive away, respectively.

Excellent secondary options include Durham Johnston Comprehensive School – a mile and a half down the road and commutable via public transport – and St Leonards Catholic School, a seven-minute bike ride away.

New College Durham is a 20-minute walk away from the development, offering a range of vocational courses, as well as apprenticeships and company links aimed at preparing students for employment, further learning, and independent living.

Durham University is part of the Russell Group and offers some of the most prestigious teaching in the world, with access to superb facilities including two well-known university libraries. The University Hospital of North Durham is a mile away, providing training and experience for medical students.

Sniperley Hall bus stop is a minute’s walk away from the development and offers regular shuttle services into Durham city centre. Sniperley Park and Ride is a minute’s drive away, providing a connection to the train station.

Durham train station is two miles away, overlooking the city centre and offering LNER, CrossCountry, and Transpennine Express routes. Regular destinations include Edinburgh, Newcastle, Liverpool Lime Street, and London King’s Cross – the latter has an estimated journey time of around three hours.

The development is a 10-minute drive away from junction 62 of the A1, reaching Newcastle in a further 20 minutes.

Newcastle International Airport is 23 miles away, serving destinations and connections worldwide.

Comprehensive shopping can be found at the Arnison Centre, two miles away. A sprawling array of name-brand retailers and restaurants offer a convenient concentration of stores.

Durham’s city centre is host to a selection of independent sellers. The city’s tourist trade means it has plenty of pubs, bars, cafés, and restaurants to explore, while the indoor Market Hall and multiple shopping arcades make Durham an ideal shopping destination.

Framwellgate Moor’s Front Street is a three-minute drive from the development, providing popular supermarket brands for everyday essentials, a choice of local eateries, plus independent vendors.

The Metrocentre is in Gateshead, a 30-minute drive away. With over 250 stores, dining for all occasions, and a variety of leisure attractions, the north-east shopping centre is one of the premier shopping destinations in the country. Your monthly repayments

Repayment mortgage
What's this?
If you opt for a repayment mortgage, you will need to make monthly payments to your mortgage lender, which consist of a portion of the amount you originally borrowed (sometimes called the ‘capital balance’), as well as any interested that has been incurred on your loan.
Interest only mortgage
What's this?
Choosing an interest-only mortgage means that you will only need to make monthly payments towards the interest on the amount you originally borrowed. With this type of loan, you don’t need to repay any of the capital balance (the amount you borrowed to buy your home), for the duration of the interest only period.
