The A164 is only half-a-mile from the development and enables travel to the popular market town of Beverley in quarter-of-an-hour, as well as connection to the A15 and A1079. A trip to York using the A1079 takes one hour. The M62 motorway is under twenty minutes away and allows for travel to Leeds in just over an hour. Hull city centre is six miles away.

Cottingham Railway Station is the closest national rail service and offers regular routes to popular destinations. Bridlington Station takes just 35 minutes, while Sheffield and Scarborough are a little further at one hour 37 minutes and one hour 23 minutes respectively. A trip to Hull Station takes just 10 minutes and from here commuters can connect to regional lines that afford travel to Leeds in one hour 17 minutes and York in one hour eight minutes.

Eating and Drinking

There is a range of cuisines offered in Cottingham village including British, Italian, Indian, and south-east Asian, perfect for fuss-free meal times and takeaways. Across the region there are a number of charming pubs serving cask ales, quality wines and Sunday lunches. Due to the picturesque nature of the area there are also many local tearooms and cafẻs to be found serving sweet treats and traditional labourer’s tea.

Hull city centre has a number of cafẻs, restaurants, familiar chains and pubs all offering quality menus and inviting settings. Cerutti’s in Hull is a stalwart seafood restaurant that was established off the back of Hull’s historical fishing port. It has Mediterranean favourites mixed with traditional English meals.

For something special, The Pipe and Glass is East Yorkshire’s only Michelin-star restaurant. It serves local and seasonal produce in an inn in Beverley that has been standing since 15th century.
