Welcome to Holmes Chapel

Holmes Chapel is a charming village in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, surrounded on all fronts by green fields. The oldest building in the village – the church – dates from the 15th century and coexists alongside more modern amenities in the village centre.

 

Education

These new houses in Holmes Chapel benefit from their proximity to a number of highly regarded schools in the area. These include Holmes Chapel Primary School (just over a mile away) and Hermitage Primary School (around half a mile away). There are also primary schools in nearby Goostrey, Brereton, Byley and Sandbach. Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and Sixth Form College caters for older pupils and is around a mile from Brooklands, while Sandbach High School and Sixth Form College is just over five miles from the development.

 

Shopping

Holmes Chapel has a thriving commercial presence, with a number of stores and amenities at its centre, including a bakery, butcher, greengrocer, newsagent, delicatessen and small supermarket – all within a mile of Brooklands.

Slightly further afield, Sandbach (less than 15 minutes drive) has a weekly market and monthly farmers’ market, and Congleton (around 12 minutes drive) has a twice weekly market, as well as a mixture of high-street and independent shops.

For concentrated retail therapy, Manchester city centre, with its hundreds of high-street names and independent boutiques is 45 minutes drive and the Trafford Centre around 37 minutes drive from these new houses in Holmes Chapel.

 

Leisure

The location of Brooklands – in the heart of the Cheshire countryside yet within easy reach of major towns and cities such as Manchester, Congleton, Chester, Stockport and Warrington – means there is always something to do.

Swettenham Meadows Nature Reserve is around 10 minutes drive from the development and perfect for discovering local plants and animals. Follow the self-guided trail around this 16-acre site and learn all about the variety of wildflowers, grasses, insects, frogs, newts and birds that live there.

For history enthusiasts, Tatton Park comprises 1,000 acres of grounds and is around 12 miles from Brooklands. Attractions include the 15th century Tatton Hall, Tatton Park mansion, a working farm and award-winning gardens.

For science fans, the famous Jodrell Bank Observatory, home to the giant Lovell Telescope, is just a 10-minute drive away, while for sports enthusiasts, the village leisure centre offers a variety of clubs and classes, including badminton, tennis, trampolining, karate and running.

The Victoria Club in Holmes Chapel, established more than 80 years ago, also offers sporting facilities including a bowling green, cricket pitches and tennis courts. The club regularly hosts film screenings and social events for members, as well as being the venue for regular dance classes.

A number of local pubs, restaurants, cafés and takeaways are easily accessible from the development. Local watering holes include the 17th century Red Lion Pub, one of the oldest buildings in the village, which serves a selection of food and real ales; the George & Dragon bar and restaurant; the Fox & Hounds at Sproston and the Crown at Goostrey.

 

Transport

Brooklands is the ideal base for commuters, and residents of these new houses in Holmes Chapel will find a number of major roads within easy reach.

The M6, leading to the M56 and Manchester Airport, lies just six minutes drive away, the A54 leading to Congleton is on the doorstep and the A535 to Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Manchester lies just a couple of minutes away.

Holmes Chapel train station is approximately 10 minutes walk from the development, with regular services into Manchester Piccadilly (journey time around 45 minutes), Manchester Airport (journey time 20 minutes), Stockport (journey time under 30 minutes) and Crewe (journey time 15 minutes).

There are also a number of public bus services connecting Holmes Chapel with nearby towns and villages, including routes to Sandbach, Goostrey, Brereton, Crewe, Middlewich and Congleton.
