East Cliff and Warren Country Park, just over two miles from West End Quarter, is home to around 150 species of birds and is said to be one of the best fossil hunting sites in the south of England. Guided walks, exhibitions and children’s events are held there regularly throughout the year.

Moving away from the coast, the town also sits at the edge of the North Downs, which extends across two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a haven for ramblers, cyclists and horse riders, as well as those who simply want to explore the countryside, historic monuments and villages that lie within them.
