Harp Meadow is an elegant development of new homes in Sudbury designed to appeal to a variety of audiences, including first-time buyers, professionals and families.

The property mix comprises 2, 3 and 4-bedroom houses, all with modern bathrooms and kitchens, and all benefiting from gardens and a garage, or off-street parking. Each home is completed to the highest standards and offers a quality specification, with optional upgrades available.

Open space is a priority on this development, with communal areas echoing the rural atmosphere of this part of Suffolk. The ancient town centre is just a 10-minute walk away and adds to the countryside feel, with its architecture, river views and public meadows.

For families, there are a number of well-regarded schools in the local area, including Woodhall Community Primary and Wells Hall Community Primary schools for younger pupils and Ormiston Sudbury Academy for secondary age students. West Suffolk College also has a centre in the town and offers a range of apprenticeships, vocational and academic courses.

Shopping in Sudbury hints at a bygone era, with many of its high-street and specialist stores – including independent department store Winch & Blatch – set in historic buildings along North Street, Friars Street and around Market Hill. The market, which dates back to Saxon times, takes place twice a week and a regular farmers’ market is held once a month.

Easily accessible from the town centre, King’s Meadow, the Croft and Belle Vue Park are popular with residents and visitors for walking, picnicking and relaxing. The River Stour – once an important transport hub for Sudbury’s textiles trade – is today a focus for pleasure boats and lies on the heritage waterway, which runs along the border of Suffolk and Essex. The beautiful countryside of Dedham Vale and the Stour Valley, made famous in the paintings of Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable, surrounds the town, offering many acres of landscape to explore.

Gainsborough House – birthplace of the artist – is located in the town, around 10 minutes walk from Harp Meadow, and is now an art gallery and museum. Sudbury also has a theatre – the Quay Theatre – which presents a regular programme of drama, film, live music, exhibitions and family entertainment, while for sports fans the town also has a rugby club, football club and rowing club.

These new homes in Sudbury are ideally situated for commuting to nearby towns, such as Colchester, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, as well as London. Major roads nearby include the A131, connecting with nearby Halstead and Braintree, and the A134, linking Sudbury with Bury St Edmunds, Thetford, Colchester and King’s Lynn.

Regular train services run from Sudbury Railway Station to Marks Tey in Essex, for connections to London Liverpool Street, Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich and Norwich.

For domestic and international flights, Stansted Airport is around 32 miles from the development.
