There are a number of primary and secondary schools located near Dunton Fields, including Millhouse Infant and Nursery School, Millhouse Junior School, Merrylands Primary School and Great Berry Primary School. For older pupils, well-regarded secondary schools within 10 miles, or 15 minutes drive of the development, include Mayflower High School, Beauchamps High School, De La Salle School and Language College, and The Billericay School. South Essex College caters for students over the age of 16 and nearby universities include the University of Essex, Anglia Ruskin University and the University of East London.

 

Shopping

With a wealth of high-street brands, independent retailers and a market that takes place four days a week, residents of Dunton Fields have a world of retail therapy on their doorstep in Basildon.

Eastgate Shopping Centre in the middle of town is just six minutes drive from the development and boasts more than 100 stores, restaurants and cafés. Basildon centre is also home to the town’s traditional market, which sells a variety of fresh produce and household goods from its 60 stalls.

A number of larger stores are located at Westgate Retail Park, at the edge of the town centre, just one of several retail parks in Basildon and the surrounding area.

Further afield, Lakeside Shopping Centre in West Thurrock, with around 250 stores and Bluewater in Kent, with around 330 stores, can be reached in less than 20 minutes and 30 minutes respectively.

 

Leisure

Dunton Fields is perfectly placed for taking advantage of Basildon’s many recreational facilities and the tranquillity of the surrounding Essex countryside.

Golf fans will find two clubs close to the development. Basildon Golf Club, which plays at Basildon Golf Course (eight minutes drive away) and Langdon Hills Golf and Country Club (10 minutes away), both of which combine undulating courses with panoramic views of the lovely Essex countryside.

For children, attractions include Barleylands Farm Park, less than three miles away, which offers hands-on animal care, soft play, outdoor adventure areas, tractor and miniature train rides, demonstrations and holiday events. For grown-ups, the adjacent Barleylands Craft Village features around 60 crafts and holds regular farmers’ markets.

 

Transport

These new homes in Laindon benefit from excellent transport links with nearby towns and villages, and importantly for commuters, with east London, the City and Docklands.

Laindon train station is just four minutes drive from Dunton Fields and benefits from a car park providing parking for more than 200 cars. Regular services run into London Fenchurch Street with a journey time of around 35 minutes.

Major roads easily accessible from the development include the A127, which links Basildon with the M25 and east London, and in the opposite direction with Southend-on-Sea, and the A13, which connects with the M25 before terminating in Whitechapel, in the heart of London’s East End.
