Transport

Access to the capital’s London St Pancras International station is also possible in one hour 45 minutes.

 

Education

Leisure

Nottingham city centre hosts an enticing mix of contemporary and traditional attractions, with state-of-the-art entertainment venues alongside spectacular period architecture. The area is strongly linked to the folklore of Robin Hood and visitors can partake in a guided tour that explores the 1,600 years of history behind the legendary figure and his local area. Lace-making is also a prominent feature of Nottinghamshire’s heritage and the remnants of England’s once most illustrious production centres can be seen in the Creative Quarter.

Nottingham Contemporary is a modern art space comprising four art galleries and a performance and film centre. It showcases outstanding collections of modern art works including international, European and English artists. The city’s Royal Centre is home to The National Royal Concert Hall and the Victorian Theatre Royal, both landmark buildings which play host to regular touring works and international acts of great acclaim.

Just out of the city centre is Nottingham Castle, a 17th century ducal mansion built on the site of a medieval castle, which is now Nottingham’s main museum and art gallery. A heritage-rich site within 10-minutes of Liberty is the Elizabethan mansion and lush parklands at Wollaton Hall and Deer Park. It houses Nottingham’s Natural History Museum which offers indoor tours to explore the working Tudor kitchen, as well as the Admiral’s bath and prospect room.

For active residents, Victoria Leisure Centre boasts a refurbished gym, a pool, spa facilities and group fitness studios. Just 10 miles from Liberty is the state-of-the-art Holme Pierrepoint Country Park, which boasts the National Water Sports Centre on site.
