With the Norman-built Chichester Cathedral, Roman-built cross streets, and the impressive city walls, there’s plenty of the area’s history on show. More modern pursuits can be found in the city’s Festival Theatre and arthouse cinema, both of which host a mixture of popular shows and niche creations.

The combined planetarium and science museum shows off the universe around Chichester, while the natural harbour and South Downs National Park to the north provide stunning views of picturesque West Sussex.

From independent boutiques to well-known stores, Chichester has shopping areas for every homeowner. Little London Walk is the go-to place for independent stores, while the beautiful city streets are lined with a mixture of locally owned businesses, bustling cafes, and high street stores that adorn city centres nation-wide.

Chichester is known as one of the UK’s premier dining hotspots, and it’s no wonder why with a plethora of options readily available. Viento Delevante, Reina Kitchen, and Cassons Restaurant are all known for their tapas, Turkish cuisine, and fine dining respectively. The latter is a specialist in game and fish dishes, while Viento Delevante has previously been voted as the best restaurant in the city.

The closest major highway to the development is the A27 trunk road. Running close to Chichester, this road connects the city to the M3, M27, M275, and the wider motorway network. The city is also a champion of sustainable transport, with a plethora of walking and cycling routes created throughout the local area.

Chichester’s train station runs regular services to London Victoria and Gatwick Airport, with journeys taking just under an hour to reach the airport and around 90 minutes to reach London. Other destinations within a hour via train include Portsmouth, Brighton, and Southampton.

Chichester is home to several well-regarded schools, including Chichester Free School and Bishop Luffa School. Chichester Free School is open to students between 4 and 19, while Bishop Luffa is a popular choice for secondary and college education. Specialist further education is available through the Chichester College Group, a centre offering courses for anyone aged 16 and above.

The University of Chichester is also nearby and this well-liked centre has consistently ranked highly in terms of student satisfaction. Undergraduate and postgraduate degrees can be obtained here, with a plethora of courses available to prospective students.

For children with additional needs, St Anthony’s has excellent provision for those aged between 4 and 16.
