Further afield, Burton upon Trent and Derby boast vibrant commercial centres and both can be reached by car in less than half an hour.

Ashby de la Zouch lies at the heart of the National Forest, so the local area offers ample opportunities for outdoor pursuits and sports. Ashby de la Zouch Castle, which dates back to the 12th century, is situated on the outskirts of the town centre and is a regular venue for public events, including outdoor theatre productions in the summer months.
