Hazlemere Marina is located in Waltham Abbey, half a mile from the town centre, around two miles from the A10 and the M25, and 17 miles from central London.
Waltham Abbey town centre is the setting for a variety of independent stores, as well as several supermarkets and a twice weekly market. There is also a Tesco superstore on Sewardstone Road, just over a mile from the development, and a Sainsbury’s supermarket, just under a mile away, within The Pavilions Shopping Centre in Waltham Cross. The Lee Valley White Water Centre, which hosts a range of watersports, is the nearest sports venue to the development, but the park also includes the Lee Valley VeloPark and the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre, part of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, 12 miles away. The River Lee Country Park is a short car journey away, extending from Waltham Abbey to Broxbourne this 1,000 acre park offers cycle routes, walking trails, boat hire, children’s play areas and regular family events.
Family activities are held at Lee Valley Park Farms, where children can also get to know the resident farm animals, while Paradise Wildlife Park at Broxbourne is home to tigers, snow leopards and lions, as well as train and tractor rides, and adventure play areas.
For movie fans, regular film screenings are held in Waltham Abbey town hall, while Cineworld at Southbury Leisure Park in Enfield screens the latest movies and is situated next to branches of several popular family restaurant chains.

Hazlemere Marina benefits from good local transport links, with regular trains running from Waltham Cross Railway Station to Tottenham Hale (for London Underground’s Victoria Line), Stratford (for Docklands Light Railway and the Central Line tube), and London Liverpool Street (for the Central Line and for the City). A network of public buses connects Waltham Abbey with surrounding towns and villages, such as Loughton, Cheshunt and Harlow. Major road links include the A10 (for London Bridge, Shoreditch, Stoke Newington and Tottenham to the south, and Hertford, Cambridge and King’s Lynn to the north), the M11 (for east London, Stansted Airport and Cambridge), and the M25 London Orbital Motorway. Stansted Airport is half an hour away by car via the M25 and the M11, while Heathrow Airport is a 40-minute car journey away via the M25.
