Guildford’s main shopping district is focused around High Street, Chapel Street and Swan Lane, and includes three shopping centres – The Friary, Tunsgate Square and White Lion Walk. A market takes place twice a week on North Street, and a farmers’ market is held once a month on High Street.

The town is also home to art galleries and a museum, while architectural highlights include Guildford Castle, which dates back to the 11th century, the 16th-century Guildhall and the modern red brick cathedral, consecrated in 1961.

Sports facilities locally include the Spectrum Leisure Complex, which boasts an Olympic sized ice rink and four swimming pools, and Surrey Sports Park, which has an Olympic standard swimming pool, exercise studios, a gym, sports courts and pitches.


For families, well-regarded schools within the vicinity of these new homes in Guildford include Queen Eleanor’s CE School and Pewley Down Infant School for younger children, and for older pupils, Guildford County School, Guildford High School for Girls and the Royal Grammar School (for boys).
