Children are catered for by Gulliver’s Land, Milton Keynes, which featuring rides, attractions and entertainment aimed at younger ages. Woburn Safari Park is another enjoyable place to visit with the family as over 80 species of wildlife are able to roam the 300 acres of parkland.

The Higgins Art Gallery and Museum in Bedford is housed in a 200-year-old building rich in local history, showcasing an exploration of fine 20thcentury artworks. It also holds touring exhibitions throughout the year. Also in Bedford there is the Shuttleworth Collection, an aeronautical and automotive museum housed in the old Warden Aerodrome. It is considered to be one of the most prestigious in the world thanks to its rare and interesting collection of artefacts and memorabilia.

Golf enthusiasts will find Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland course based upon designs by Sandy Herd, just 15 minutes’ drive from the development.

Education

Residents will find a selection of well-regarded schools within easy reach of the development. On the New Cardington site, the Shortstown Primary School is less than two-years-old and is easy walking distance for parents and children. Elstow School for five to 10-year-olds is less than two miles away, while Willington Lower School is an eight minute drive. St John’s School, which caters for two-year-olds to 19-years-of-age is just under 10 minute’s journey. The popular Bedford Girl’s School and Bedford School for boys are 2.2 miles and 3.9 miles away respectively.

Students of higher-education will find the University of Bedfordshire has campuses at both Luton, a 34-minute commute and at Milton Keynes, which is a 25-minute trip.

Transport

These new homes in Bedfordshire are afforded excellent commuter links to destinations close by as well as those further afield. The A421 is a useful connection that allows for travel to Milton Keynes in 25 minutes. Bedford is just over 10 minutes drive away via the A603, while Luton is a 19.5 mile trip along the A6. The M1 is 10.7 miles from home and affords travel to Northampton, 40 minutes away and London city centre, which is one hour and 12 minutes by car.

New Cardington is served by the Bedford Railway Station, which runs regular services to popular destinations. A trip to Leicester is 42 minutes, while Nottingham is a one hour and 14 minute journey. The capital’s London St Pancras International can be reached in one hour and two minutes.
