The historic town of Sandbach is just over five minutes drive from Water’s Edge and is famous for housing one the finest examples of Saxon monument in Britain, The Sandbach Crosses. The Grade II listed St. Mary’s Church is an iconic building with considerable religious and architectural significance, boasting a mention in the ancient Doomsday Book.

A family-run business which has a reputation of over 40 years, this speciality grocers prides itself on being the ‘purveyor of the world’s finest food’ with shelves of excellent chutneys, preserves, oils and vinegars, along with a range own-blended cheeses and an unrivalled array of homemade bread, cakes and pies.

Neighbouring Crewe houses the extensive Market Shopping Centre with a good selection of high-street stores covering fashion, beauty, sports, homewares and gifts.

Eating and drinking

The village of Winterley benefits from a handful of casual, independent eateries while nearby Sandbach enjoys a thriving restaurant circuit, with quaint cafes alongside award-winning restaurants.

Within a few minutes walk of the development there is a well-regarded Chinese restaurant, with a reputation in the locality for serving impressively authentic cuisine. For traditionally British dishes made from locally sourced produce, The Holly Bush Inn is under a ten minute walk from home and boasts an extensive menu including grill and seafood selections, along with locally sourced real ale and a good selection of wines.

Just a five minute drive from Water’s Edge, residents will find an excellent selection of restaurants in Sandbach, such as the popular Raffaele which serves exquisitely presented Italian-inspired dishes and is highly praised for the quality of its coffee. The popular Casa Mia restaurant is situated in the heart of the attractive market square and hosts themed nights which explore the authentic tastes of various Italian regions.

As a historic market town, Sandbach is committed to the importance of fresh, locally sourced produce and Minshull’s Country Kitchen is no exception, with seasonal lunch specials freshly cooked to order, along with a fantastic selection of homemade cakes and wonderful afternoon tea.

Transport and education

Transport connections in the area are excellent, with local roads such as the A534 less than a mile away, connecting Wrexham with Congleton and passing Nantwich and Crewe.

The major M6 motorway is just a 10 minute drive from home and provides routes to major commuter destinations such as Manchester and Birmingham within one hour by car.

Crewe Train Station is just four miles from these new homes in Sandbach, with a direct service to London Euston, along with regular services to popular destinations such as Derby, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Chester and Liverpool.

The city of Manchester boasts the largest single site university in the UK at just over 50 minutes drive from home, while the award-winning University of Liverpool can be reached in under an hour.
