Prescot town centre is just a mile from the development and presents a pleasant, pedestrianised high street which has expanded in recent years to include the more substantial Cables Retail Park.

Prescot Shopping Centre also lies at the heart of the town, comprising dozens of national retailers and with free parking available on Aspinall Street, or easy access from Eccleston Street for pedestrians.

A well-stocked producers’ market is held in Prescot on the first Saturday of every month offering a wide range of excellent quality produce, fresh deli and backed goods, fashion, crafts and giftwares.

Just 3.5 miles north east of Scotchbarn Rise, residents will find a wider range of leisure and retail facilities in bustling St. Helens. The Church Square Shopping centre is especially popular in the town, along with a handful of quality, family-friendly restaurants and a state-of-the-art Cineworld cinema.

10 miles away is the captivating city of Liverpool, which promises a first-class shopping destination spanning exclusive retail outlets, modern department stores and bohemian street markets.

Transport

Commuters are well catered for with excellent nearby transport links, including convenient bus and rail services, as well as easy access to the well-connected motorway network.

The development is just 1.5 miles from the M57 which acts as a bypass road for Liverpool, connecting Tarbock with Aintree. The major M62 motorway is 2.6 miles away, while St. Helens can be reached in 3.3 miles (via the A58), and Liverpool city centre can be reached in 10 miles (via the A5049).

A bus stop is located close to the entrance of the development, which provides regular services to Prescot, St.Helens, Kirkby and Rainhill.

Huyton Bus Station provides services to Liverpool every 10 minutes, and Warrington every 30 minutes.

Prescot station, which has 35 free parking spaces, is just over half a mile from Scotchbarn Rise, and provides direct trains to Liverpool (approx. 20 minutes) and Wigan (approx. 30 minutes).

Alternatively, Rainhill station is around a mile from the development, and provides services to Liverpool, Manchester and Warrington.

International travel is provided by Liverpool John Lennon Airport, around a 20-minute drive from home.

Education

For growing families, there are a number of popular schools in the close surrounding area, covering infant through to higher education.

There are a number of exceptionally well-regarded primary schools very nearby, two of which are within half a mile – Prescot Primary School and Evelyn Community Primary School – while Eccleston Lane Ends Primary School and St Luke’s Catholic Primary School are both less than a mile away.

Also within a mile of the development, there are two secondary schools which both cater for ages 11 to 16.

Carmel College is just a four minute drive away and boasts an excellent reputation in the area, recently awarded a coveted accolade as the best performing college in Merseyside and Cheshire.
