Situated just half a mile from Grey Gables Farm, Withy Grove Park provides extensive green space for walking, running and cycling, and boasts several adventure play areas to serve children of all ages. Located on the edge of the park, Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre has a range of facilities including a swimming pool, sports hall and gym with fitness classes.
The 250-acre Brockholes nature reserve is situated about 10 minutes’ drive from the development. Home to a diversity of wildlife, this attraction also features a floating ‘Visitor Village’, with children’s activities, shops and a waterfront restaurant.
Preston, approximately four miles from Grey Gables Farm, offers a wealth of indoor entertainment options to suit most tastes in and around its city centre. These include the Preston Guild Hall theatre, which hosts touring shows and live bands, and the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, which regularly holds family activity days, plus a multiplex cinema and a bowling alley.
Further afield, the picturesque Ribble Valley provides ample opportunities for day trips and family leisure activities. The area includes attractive market towns such as Clitheroe, in addition to The Forest of Bowland, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that incorporates historic villages, fells and valleys, making it a popular destination for hikers. The forest has also been granted official status as a Dark Sky Discovery Site.
For days out by the coast, the resorts of Blackpool and Morecambe are both accessible in around 35 minutes by car. The Lake District National Park lies to the north, and can be reached directly via the M6.
