Stylish home, stunning setting
Some places simply make you feel home
A setting in Aldington, with views over Romney Marsh, and a choice of stylish two, three, four and five bedroom houses in a location that combines good access to the capital, cost and countryside - its not surprising that life feels good at Aldington Meadow.
From its historic parish church, primary school and post office, to the local stores from butcher to baker, as well as village hall
and tennis courts and a raft of clubs and associations, Aldington is a thriving village. The village is home to the Walnut Tree
and The Good Intent pubs both with restaurants, while there is a Tesco under two miles away. More shopping including
Sainsburys and Asda is in Ashford, six miles away, with its bustling High Street, market five days a week and modern mall
shopping at the Park and the County Square Centres. The Stour Centre sports and leisure complex in Ashford is equipped
with both swimming and learner pools, and activities from Saturday soccer to squash. The county town of Canterbury with
its cathedral town ambiance and all the restaurants, cafes, bars and bistros of a lively university town is 19 miles away.
Much of the landscape surrounding the village is designated a protected Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Brockhill
Country Park, offers over 50 acres to explore from strolls to Postling Down, an area of ancient downland, to the valley walk
and lake trail, with other trails linking to the Saxon Shore Way. Golfers can discover the parkland course of Ashford Golf Club,
while the landscape is also the place to explore Port Lympne and Howletts Wild Animal Parks, with their wildlife that includes
the UK’s largest herd of African elephants. You can take safari truck ride across vast open countryside, or at Hythe, the small
seaside resort and town seven miles to the east from Aldington and one of the five original historic Cinque Ports, you can
take in the sea breezes as well as the views of fishermen‘s cottages and lighthouses from the steam trains on the light railway.
More everyday travel is found in train services from Ashford to London Victoria and Charing Cross from just over an hour
to one hour 25 minutes. At Aldington Meadow you are also well-placed to access the M20 motorway, with the Channel
Tunnel and its links to continental Europe just 12 miles away.
