The Ridings

The Shalbourne Stores is post office, village shop and deli all rolled into one, selling some of the region's best quality produce from freshly baked bread of nearby Bedwyne Bakery and meat from Marlborough butchers to farm fresh vegetables and fish, ham and newly harvested Hungerford honey.

You can even take in the occasional wine tasting session, or simply soak up the sunshine with a coffee outside with friends or the newspaper.  The Plough Inn offers real ales and a restaurant and the Crown and Anchor in Ham just a mile and a half away, combines a pub with Indigo Palace's Indian cuisine, while Hungerford has its own good choice of hostelries, many with restaurants.

Shalbourne village and village hall are home to activities from toddlers group to a gardening club, while Hungerford has a thriving Film Club or head to Newbury, 13 miles away, for the Kennet Centre's state of the art Vue cinema for the latest 3D release with VIP seats and superb shopping mall.

Above Shalbourne village the gliding club's machines takes to the skies to soar over one of the countrys most beautiful downland sites, however at The Ridings you are also perfectly located to take off fast for skiing, summer sun or springtime in Paris with excellent access to the M4, Southampton Airport 48 miles and Heathrow 57 miles away while Bedwyn and Hungerford stations' services into London Paddington take 1hr 20mins and 1hr 10mins respectively.
