Sun Park is ideally located for excellent connection to nearby motorway links, as well as public transport services. With several major roads within easy reach, residents will find convenient access to locations such as Slough, Swindon and Southampton easy to get to. Other local road links like the A327 give access to Farnborough town centre in around 10 minutes and Reading, about 17 miles away. The A321 affords travel north to Wokingham in less than half-an-hour. The close proximity of junction 4A of the M3 make both Fleet and Farnborough easily accessible, as is London, which can be reached in a little under one hour, while Basingstoke takes about 20 minutes.

The development is served by Farnborough Railway Station, which offers regular services to satisfy both leisure and work commutes. Those looking to travel to Basingstoke can do so in 25 minutes and for travel further south, Southampton is a 51-minute journey. Popular Portsmouth Harbour is a one hour and 35 minute commute, while going even further east to Poole will take two hours and 42 minutes. Journeys into the capital’s London Waterloo station take 50 minutes.

With plenty of neighbouring copses, there are ample green spaces to take a stroll, do some running, cycle or walk the dog.

Prestigious Manor Park in Aldershot, boasts many wonderful facilities including a playground, floodlit skate park, tennis courts, a basketball court, a heroes’ war memorial garden, a large pond and a 17th century, Grade II listed manor house.

Animal lovers will enjoy what’s on offer at two local wildlife parks. Birdworld at Farnham is one of England’s largest bird parks. It has 26 acres of parkland that also includes an underwater world and children’s farm. There is a large range of animals on display from amphibians to insects, mammals to reptiles. Visitors can simply observe the wildlife or choose to get up close to them with owl handling and parrot experiences. Additionally, there is a penguin show, underwater displays and a family-friendly café. The Marwell Zoo is another enticing attraction with 140 acres of parkland home to 1,200 animals made up of 235 species. Here, zoologists run important conservation programs and present interactive animal displays. A road train and regular events also keep visitors entertained.

Cultural attractions are easily accessed by travel to London, which has many venues for art, theatre, music, ballet and operatic events. It is a cultural hub of the world and both local and international shows feature across the city’s venues’ packed yearly programmes. A local attraction worth a visit is the Jane Austen House Museum in Chawton. The iconic writer spent the last few years of her life in this superb example of a village home working on several manuscripts and the start of a new book that was unfortunately never completed. Visitors can immerse themselves in hers and her family’s daily life at the cottage with a tour of the original vegetable garden, her personal artefacts and the well-informed exhibits of their lives.


Eating and Drinking

In the town of Farnborough there is a range of traditional pubs that serve real cask ales, Sunday lunches and gastronomic menus. There are also convenient takeaways, family cafẻs, chain eateries and relaxed restaurants serving Asian, Italian and British cuisine. In Fleet, around 10 minutes drive away, there are more appealing restaurants featured along Fleet Road, as well as enticing bars and traditional taverns.

Special occasions may warrant a visit to two of the best local restaurants in the area. Michael Wignall at The Latymer in Bagshot has two Michelin stars. It is located in a delightful hotel dining room complete with glass-enclosed chef table. The menu boasts precise and skilled dishes of cutting-edge combinations and the finest of ingredients.

The Aviator Brasserie in Farnborough enjoys two AA rosettes and a modern hotel setting. They serve classic, seasonal dishes with locally produced food, matched perfectly to select boutique wines.
