Didcot is a town located in Oxfordshire, with excellent transport links into Oxford, Reading and London.

 

Transport

Brunswick Green benefits from excellent road links. The M4 is approximately fifteen minutes away by car, allowing drivers to reach Reading and London in the south east, as well as Swindon, Bristol, Newport and Swansea to the south west.

The A34 is less than a five-minute drive from the development and provides a direct route to Oxford town centre, within 25 minutes.

Didcot Parkway Railway Station is around a five-minute drive away from Brunswick Green and offers services to Oxford, Reading and London. Regular bus services also run from Didcot Parkway and carry on to local towns such as Oxford, Abingdon, Blewbury and Drayton.

For international travel, both Southampton and Heathrow airports are within an hour’s drive from home.

 

Education

Families will benefit from plans to build a new primary and secondary school on the development. Both are scheduled to open in time for the first occupation of these new homes in Didcot.

There are also a number of well-regarded schools nearby, including three primary schools, Ladygrove Park, Northbourne C of E and Willowcroft Community School.

Secondary schools include Didcot Girls’ School and St Birinus School for boys, both only a short walk away. While UTC Oxfordshire serves children aged 14 – 19 years old and is only half a mile away from the development. This University Technical College specialises in science and technology and is supported by businesses and universities who specialise in these fields.

Independent education is also well-served, with a number of highly regarded schools within Oxfordshire. Those nearest to the development can be found in Abingdon, and are within around each within a 15-minute drive from Brunswick Green. These include the St Helen’s and St Katherine’s school for girls, Abingdon School for boys and for co-education there is Our Lady’s Abingdon Senior School.

Higher education is offered by the prestigious Oxford University, only 25 minutes away by car.

 

Eating and Drinking

Residents of these new homes in Didcot can benefit from a selection of family-friendly dining options within the town centre, including cafés and restaurants.

The town is also home to several pubs, including The Royal Oak Pub which serves a range of wines, beers and real ales, alongside traditional pub and grill food.

Didcot offers several shopping opportunities, including a range of independent and high-street retailers. The town is also home to the Orchard Centre shopping mall, which houses around 30 stores and a supermarket.

There are a number of supermarkets within two miles of the development, as well as a superstore around 10 minutes’ drive away.

Oxford boasts several shopping areas, including a collection of independent stores and boutiques, in addition to three shopping centres - Westgate, Clarendon and Templars Square. There is also a covered market held on Market Street, which sells gifts, clothing and fresh, local produce.

 

Leisure

Located close to the Oxfordshire downs, Brunswick Green is ideally placed for outdoor pursuits, such as hiking, jogging, cycling and fishing.

Didcot features several parks, gardens, children’s play areas and recreation grounds, the nearest of which is Great Western Drive Park, only a 5-minute drive from Brunswick Green. There are also local woodlands to explore and a skateboard park for older children.

Sports fans may enjoy one of Didcot’s three leisure centres, or its 18-hole golf course, each within ten minutes’ drive from the development.

Indoor entertainment, including a multiplex cinema, a railway museum and an arts and entertainment centre, can be found within the town centre.

In Oxford, a varied programme of live entertainment can be enjoyed at The New Theatre, where productions include drama, opera, comedy, dance and music.  

A broad range of well-known musical and theatre productions can also be experienced in London’s West End.
