For further retail opportunities, Highcross Shopping Centre boasts more than 100 high-street shops and department stores, as well as a range of family-friendly restaurants and a multiplex cinema. Alternatively, Saint Martin’s Square boasts a range of artisan and independent retailers, as well as being a venue for regular events, including festivals and family fun days.

Leicester Market dates back to the 1300s. This indoor food hall and covered outdoor market boasts a wide range of goods and is open Monday to Saturday during most weeks. Leicester also has a monthly farmers’ market.

 

Eating and Drinking

Scraptoft Golf Club is less than half a mile away from Goodridge. This 18-hole golf course is set in beautiful parkland and includes a clubhouse, bar and restaurant.

Leicestershire offers several leisure opportunities including Stretton Circuit (11 minutes by car), a 950-metre outdoor karting course for adults and children, as well as Stonehurst Family Farm and Motor Museum (a 20-minute drive) which includes a working farm and a petting zoo. For families, Fun Valley is an indoor venue featuring soft play, astro slides, tubes, ball pits, go karts, a trampoline, traverse wall, sports area and café. Similarly, the Jungle Club offers a large, indoor soft play area with ball pools, swings, slides and a mirror maze. Both are around 15 minutes’ drive from Goodridge.

Nearby Leicester city centre boasts a wealth of entertainment for all ages, from multiplex cinemas and bowling, to theatres and museums. The National Space Centre is an award-winning visitor attraction, which includes the largest planetarium in the UK. For history enthusiasts, Leicester Abbey and Cathedral are also worth a visit.

Drayton Manor Theme Park and Thomas Land are approximately an hour’s drive from home.
