There’s never been a better time to buy a new home in Wolverhampton

There’s never been a better time to buy a new home in Wolverhampton according to one of the country’s leading housebuilders.
Bellway, which has three developments in the city, says buyers should act now as the market in the West Midlands has turned a corner.
Latest figures from the Office of National Statistics show prices in the region rose by two per cent in the year to July 2013, but the average price of new homes stayed the same across the country.
Sales director for Bellway West Midlands, Stephen Rose, said: “The market in the West Midlands has been slower to recover than other parts of the country but these figures confirm it has turned a corner.
“The fact that average newbuild prices have stayed the same demonstrates the value for money buying new offers.
“New homes are more energy efficient, you can buy without a chain and you can choose options or upgrades for various rooms. With Help to Buy making new homes affordable for first-time and existing buyers, there has never been a better time to buy.”
Buyers need a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage to secure a home using Help to Buy. The remaining 20 per cent is provided by the government as an equity loan which is interest-free for five years.

Couple who bought Bellway showhome just turned up with their suitcases

A couple who thought they couldn’t afford to buy a house are now the proud owners of a three-bedroom showhome thanks to the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.
Chris Cooke and his partner Heather Lane visited Bellway Homes’ Byron’s Place development in Hucknall after discovering they could buy a property with just a five per cent deposit.
They were so impressed with development that they returned the following day and bought the showhome.
Chris, 25 and Heather, 26, had been renting an apartment in Mapperley for six months. Chris said: “We hadn’t looked to buy until this scheme was announced. We thought we would take a look at Byron’s Place because it was exactly halfway between where my mother lives and Heather’s parents’ house.
“It was quite a spur of the moment decision. We saw the house on the Saturday and went back to reserve it on the Sunday morning.”

The couple and their son Logan, 3, moved into their new three-bedroom house at Bellway’s Kings Park development off Wood Street in Market Warsop just a month before daughter Ronnie Mae arrived.
Laura said: “We had been looking at the Bellway homes since they first started building down here a few years ago. We kept coming and going, trying to decide whether we could afford to move.

This is the house that dad built

Whoever said being a first time buyer is tough obviously hasn’t spoken to Rob Atkinson, who recently used the Government’s Help to Buy scheme to purchase a four bedroom detached house from Bellway Homes which, remarkably, was built by dad.

Rob, a 32 year old medical sales manager from Bridlington bought his new home at The Limes development in Cross Gates, Leeds for £250,000 having decided to leave his rented York apartment and begin a family with his fiancée Karen.
