Solihull couple move into their first home thanks to NewBuy

A young couple from Solihull have achieved their dream of owning their own home thanks to the NewBuy low deposit scheme.

Lorna Etheridge and her partner Jamie Whitfield have bought a two bedroom semi-detached home on Bellway Homes Babbs Mill development in North Solihull.

Lorna (22) a travel advisor who is also studying to be a teacher and her partner, Jamie (23) and engineer had been living with Lorna’s mothers whilst saving for a deposit.

“Lorna and Jamie are part of a wave of young people buying a home thanks to the NewBuy scheme,” confirmed Marie Richards, Bellway’s sales manager. “By enabling buyers to take advantage of a 5% deposit reduces the amount young people must put down as a deposit for a new home significantly, in Marie and Jamie’s case £6,240 secured their first home.”

“We were absolutely delighted with the deal that Bellway offered us, without the NewBuy scheme it would have been several years before we could have afforded a new home and the timing could not have been better as Lorna is expecting our first child in April,” confirmed Jamie.

Babbs Mill has been an extremely popular development for Bellway who have already secured 75% of the sales at the development where they are selling a range of two and three bedroom semi-detached homes priced from £112,500.

Visitors to Babbs Mill can view Bellway’s three bedroom Onyx show home to gauge the living accommodation available and the quality of the finish that Bellway provides.
