RoSPA confirms that Bellway is one of the safest companies for employees

Site workers at Bellway Homes are celebrating following the announcement that the company has been awarded a silver medal from RoSPA recognising their management of health and safety on site.

Bellway which has over 200 sites across the country and employs around 1600 direct employees and 4100 subcontractors built 4,922 homes last year.

Health and Safety Manager, Nigel Squires, said: “The Health and safety of our employees, contractors, customers and members of the general public is a key priority of our business. A system of monitoring our work places including areas open to members of the public and methods of work is continually being undertaken by both our safety consultants and our in-house safety team to ensure risks are being identified and are either removed or reduced to the lowest level. We are delighted that RoSPA has recognised our approach to health and safety, our aim is for continual improvement to ensure that our sites are amongst the safest in the country.”

Bellway’s latest health and safety initiative involves a company wide campaign to raise the awareness amongst site operatives of the risks involved during the delivery and off-loading of materials to site.
