Bellway plays the generation game at the Oaks

There’s no sign of Bruce Forsyth, however it seems national housebuilder Bellway is playing a generation game of its own, having sold three homes on its ‘The Oaks’ development in Gipton, Leeds, to three generations of the same family.

After discovering they were expecting their first child, Hayleigh Coates, 24 from Leeds, and her fiancé, Mark Austin, 26, purchased a large three bedroom semi-detached home using Bellway’s part exchange scheme – an option that the couple say they "highly recommend” to those wanting to move quickly and with minimal fuss.

Inspired by Hayleigh’s positive feedback on Bellway and the development, her brother, Dan, along with his wife and two young boys, quickly followed them to The Oaks – using the Help to Buy scheme to get themselves onto the property ladder with just a five per cent deposit.

And it didn’t stop there. Hayleigh and Dan’s mum, Tracey, along with step-dad, Richard, made it a truly family affair by buying a three bedroom house, using Bellway’s express mover scheme to remove any stress and delays that selling their four bedroom home in Roundhay may have caused.

Hayleigh said: “We’d heard a lot of good things about The Oaks and the moment we discovered we could sell our existing home using Bellway’s part exchange scheme, and be moved in time for the arrival of our first baby, we had no hesitation in making it the location of our first family home. Now that we’ve moved in and little James has safely arrived, it’s fair to say we made absolutely the right decision.

“There’s lots of space in the new house, we’re in a great and very convenient location, which is brilliant for me as I don’t drive, and we also have grandparents living just round the corner for all our babysitting needs!”

Speaking of behalf of all three generations of the family, Hayleigh added: “We cannot fault Bellway. They have been great throughout all three moves , keeping things straightforward and quick, and the houses themselves are well built and finished to a high specification.”

There are just three available properties left on The Oaks and so Bellway is urging potential buyers to act quickly to avoid disappointment. The three remaining three bedroom semi-detached homes are priced from £159,995 and are available to purchase either as part of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which allows buyers to purchase homes with just a five per cent deposit, or its part-exchange programme.
