Simon Hudson from Tamworth collects a house building Oscar

Simon Hudson from national house builder Bellway has been judged as one of the best site managers in the country for his work at Bellway’s Lakeside development in Cannock, Staffordshire.

Simon is one of a select number of site managers from across the country who has been recognised in this year's National House-Building Council (NHBC) quality awards.

The annual NHBC Pride in the Job Award is judged over the course of a year across the house-building industry. The award is designed to acknowledge the skills of site managers for their central role in co-ordinating the different trades and products used in house building, and is widely acknowledged as the building industries premier seal of quality.

Simon (42) from Tamworth started his career with Bellway as an assistant site manager and has been a site manager for the past 11 years said:

“I am delighted to receive this recognition; it is very much a team effort and reflects well upon everyone on site. It provides added confidence to our buyers that they are investing in a first-class product.”

Bellway’s Sales Director, Steve Rose commented: “The NHBC Pride in the Job campaign is a real mark of building excellence.  The award reflects the high standard of craftsmanship of the homes Simon is building at Lakeside. Simon manages a team of 25 individuals on this site so the award also reflects his excellent management skills.”

Winners of the awards now go through to the next stage of the competition, which will culminate in a supreme final to be staged in London.
