Considerate Construction

This year Bellway has recorded an average Considerate Constructors Scheme score of 31.25 across the 65 sites that were monitored by the Scheme’s assessors. The Considerate Constructors Scheme is an important voluntary initiative to promote good working practices and is a non profit organisation that is funded by the industry to improve the image of construction. Specifically, the assessors mark sites against a set of criteria that includes; safety, cleanliness, site working hours, and respect for neighbours.

In Bedford we have commenced development on the former RAF Cardington site. In the coming years this old airbase will be transformed into a new 970 home community. To keep the local population aware of the progress that is being made a regular newsletter is distributed throughout the local community. In addition to this, we facilitated a special opening event with local interest groups including the Air Cadets who have benefited from the building of a new Cadet Centre arising from the development of the former airbase.
