Travelling by car uses valuable resources, causes congestion and creates pollution that contributes to global warming and local air pollution.

When developing new communities, we take into account the need for people to travel to and from work and where possible, encourage greener transport options.

Case Study

At Northumberland Park in North Tyneside, our new homeowners now have the opportunity to make regular use of public transport via the new Metro railway station that has been added to the existing network. Financial support arising from Bellway following the grant of planning permission contributed to the provision of the station which is a key element of the local regeneration strategy providing residents of Northumberland Park access to points throughout Tyneside. This year 129 of our developments were built within 500 metres of a transport node.
